Move with Ease

Clinical Hypnotherapy in Maidstone

Helping you move beyond pain, anxiety and stress by working with your mind, body and nervous system through evidence-informed clinical hypnotherapy.

Based in Laddingford, conveniently located for Maidstone, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, with online sessions also available. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, chronic pain, persistent stress, low confidence, unhelpful habits and other mind-body symptoms, tailoring each session to your individual needs.

A gentle, collaborative approach to change

Sometimes we know what we'd like to change, but despite our best efforts, we can find ourselves repeating the same patterns, feeling overwhelmed, or living with persistent symptoms that seem difficult to shift.

Clinical hypnotherapy offers a gentle, collaborative and evidence-informed approach to change, working with the connection between thoughts, emotions, behaviours and physical responses.

At Move with Ease, hypnotherapy is integrated with my wider experience in chronic pain recovery, pain neuroscience, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, breathwork and body-based approaches. This allows me to tailor our work to you, drawing on different therapeutic approaches where appropriate rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

My aim is to help you develop greater confidence in your ability to respond differently, feel more at ease and move forward in ways that are meaningful to you.

What is Clinical Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention that most people experience every day—perhaps when you're absorbed in a good book, watching a film or driving a familiar route.

During hypnosis, you remain aware, in control and able to respond at any time. It is not about being "put under" or losing control. Instead, it allows you to become more focused and receptive to helpful thoughts, new perspectives and positive change.

Clinical hypnotherapy uses this naturally occurring state in a safe, collaborative and client-centred way to support emotional wellbeing, behaviour change and nervous system regulation.

By combining hypnosis with evidence-informed therapeutic approaches, it can help reduce anxiety and stress, build confidence, support recovery from persistent pain and encourage lasting changes in unhelpful thoughts, emotions and behaviours. It can also be used alongside medical care and other therapeutic approaches where appropriate.

At Move with Ease, hypnotherapy is integrated with an understanding of pain neuroscience, nervous system regulation, mindfulness and other evidence-informed approaches where appropriate. Every session is tailored to your individual goals and circumstances.

My Approach

No two people are the same, so no two sessions are the same. My work is integrative, drawing on a range of evidence-informed approaches to create a personalised plan that reflects your goals, experiences and pace. Depending on your needs, sessions may include:

  • Mindfulness-Based Clinical Hypnotherapy

Together these approaches can help reduce stress, calm an overprotective nervous system and support meaningful, lasting change.

What to Expect

Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to understand your story and explore what you'd like to achieve. We'll discuss:

  • your goals
  • what has brought you to therapy
  • how hypnotherapy works
  • the most appropriate approach for you

If hypnotherapy is suitable, I'll explain the process fully before we begin. Sessions are collaborative, compassionate and always adapted to your comfort level. You remain in control throughout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I lose control?

No. You remain aware throughout the session and cannot be made to do anything against your wishes.

Can everyone be hypnotised?

Most people can experience hypnosis if they are willing and comfortable to participate. Like any skill, experiences vary from person to person.

Is hypnotherapy safe?

Clinical hypnotherapy is generally considered a safe therapeutic approach when practised by a suitably trained professional.

Will I remember the session?

Most people remember the session afterwards, although many describe it as feeling deeply relaxed or dream-like.
