Yunnan is China’s most varied province, from the spring-like capital Kunming to the Bai old town of Dali on Erhai Lake, UNESCO-listed Lijiang beneath the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and the Tibetan plateau town of Shangri-La. This eight-day programme flies China Southern from Manila, stays in 5-star hotels throughout, includes the Dali–Kunming high-speed train in 2nd class, first entrance tickets and in-park transport at every scenic spot, and upgrades two lunches to buffets, one of them seafood.

Tourist visa required
Philippine passport holders need a Chinese tourist (L) visa arranged before travel — our ticketing desk can walk you through the requirements. Passport valid 6+ months with blank pages. No vaccinations are required.
Renminbi (¥); go cashless
China runs on mobile pay — set up Alipay or WeChat Pay and link a Visa/Mastercard before you fly; they now work for tourists almost everywhere. Carry some cash as backup. Tipping is not customary. Budget roughly ₱2,000–3,500 a day for meals and extras.
Four seasons; check your month
Shanghai has hot, humid summers and cold winters; Yunnan (Kunming, Lijiang) is mild by day but cool at night and sits at altitude. Layers, a warm jacket, comfortable shoes, sunblock and a rain layer cover most dates.
Metro plus Didi
City metros are fast, cheap and signed in English; use the Didi app (with in-app English) for taxis. Your package covers airport transfers and a private coach on tour days, and high-speed trains link the cities.
Mandarin; little English
English is limited outside hotels, so keep translations handy. Useful words: Nǐ hǎo (hello), Xièxie (thank you), Duōshǎo qián? (how much?). Your guide translates throughout the tour.
Mind the customs
Give and receive items with both hands, never stand chopsticks upright in rice, and queue patiently. Photography can be restricted at temples and official sites — follow the signs and your guide.
Very safe; carry your passport
China is very safe with low street crime; carry your passport as ID. Drink bottled or boiled water. Emergencies: police 110, ambulance 120. Keep your hotel’s name in Chinese to show taxi drivers.
VPN + roaming, not a local SIM
Google, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram are blocked in China — install a trusted VPN before you arrive. The easiest data is an international roaming SIM/eSIM that routes outside the firewall. WeChat keeps you in touch and pays.
The Bund & Lijiang old town
See Shanghai’s Bund skyline and Yu Garden, or Yunnan’s Stone Forest, Lijiang old town and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Try xiaolongbao soup dumplings, hotpot, roast duck and Yunnan rice noodles.
